Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid
William Goldman in elegiac script makes a fairly good job to convince us that Butch Cassidy (Paul Newman) and Sundance Kid (Robert Redford), the original rock stars were the old West. Eventually, the hole in the Wall Gang, at least as cool name, as the Hollies or Crickets. Paul Newman as Butch the lead singer, lyricist, the brains in the outfit, and what still needs to Redford pistol Kid savvy than the original bad donkey ace lead guitarist? Their life, as portrayed here, is nothing more than a romping round celebrity glut. Rob Bank, go to the cathouse, robbing trains, go to the cathouse. God knows, none of these guys have any intention of ever get a real job. But the real work was to Butch when he was a rustler! They are cool names for themselves as Bono and Sting did, and they sort of share-wife, Katherine Ross Etta Place. What do you expect Sundance, the body sleeps with it, and fast talking, always plotting Butch gets wax poetic and entertain her mind. Butch and Sundance are nothing but the Beatles with the foreboding of doom Rolling Stone posse that will eventually catch up with them.
“Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid” was in fact a kind of three-in-one “serial western comedy. first act establishes the characters. Sundance gets to show it quickly leave the site with weapons, while Butch sits back and enjoys the change of heart, what happens to a man when he falls on the Sundance name in the equation. We get to see Butch and his gang when Lurch from Addam family steps up to challenge his authority. Butch, always thinking, the poor bastard kicked in the balls. pleasure we get some loot train scenes with the endlessly amusing sequence between Butch and Woodcock, the most dedicated geek guard in the history of the world. Generally, that comes to a glittering crescendo when “Raindrops Keep Falling On My Head” sequence pays homage to the future, both bicycle and music video.
Then, in the real world is crashing in. Part Two: Butch and Sundance against Super Posse. Apparently fed up with their nonsense, the law will eventually form their own Super Group on the way down our heroes. When the duo withdraw from the rest of their gang, Butch and Sundance asked stunned, as were many of the posse following them, he told all. For most of the twenty minutes, when none of Butch ploy, even remote work, Sundance is admirable faith in their partner. “You have the most brain Butch. you anything.”
When they barely escape, the duo decided to use some new territory in part three: Butch and the Kid Go to Bolivia. A bad idea that just becomes worse and worse as Butch and the Kid struggle with the Spanish to get a job as payroll defenders (!), I walk slowly to their fate. “Bonnie and Clyde”, which was published just a few years ago, also focuses on some of the criminals are doomed, but that the fate of the film was dark and certain. Here, the guys are not even phased by the sympathetic human rights, which scoldingly warns them that, “Your time is up, and you want to die bloody and all you can do is choose the place!” Why spoil the pleasure until we get to the guys to go against, for example, the 5000 Bolivian Militia Men. The film is so sad to see him affable heroes and good times go that it would not be held to be shot down. The film ends in much the same, Porgy and Bess made. It is not likely that Porgy is going to do so throughout the country that skateboard, but if you are a true believer, you will never doubt it. Eventually, perhaps, they somehow managed to escape, and if they are not sure that this has been interesting, although it lasted.
Newman and Redford, as a duet, it is a miracle that they only made two films together. Can you imagine how much funds Danny Glover and Mel Gibson would be pumped out, they were two big movies that? Paul Newman in Butch is probably the most brilliant character constantly portrayed on the big screen. He always smiles when he says, and enjoy the trip, regardless of where it takes them. Without more serious implication of one of those John Ford westerns, he might just take a little easier on the landscape beauty, a taut, well-meaning script written by the legend, and so gorgeously photographed film that virtually every shot will look good on the wall in your den. Perhaps the most likable film never withdrawn.
