The Breaks
High concept of time: a white boy in the hood! Idea sounds cheesy to me, but someone thought it would make a good movie, so we get at Breaks as a result.
As fellow ghetto comedy based on Friday, after dining in the original events, which occur all over one short period of time. The main difference stems from the fact that our hero Derrick (Mitch Mullany), has serious flaws in the pigment, although he was raised for many years a black family, it is simply not fit in, can he?
Well, in fact it may, for the most part, not mine-Breaks as a lot of laughs from the usual “fish in water” concept. (This is not my period, a lot of laughs, but this is another matter.) At lunch flirts with some of the issues, both in the Offspring’s “Fly for a White Guy Almost, but actually shows how Derrick is well integrated into the community. Some of the goofiness demeanor highlights, but this is not some wanna-be; think Derrick is part of a group here.
Thus, the film carries out most of its bending antics of simply taking place during the day in question. Derrick quite irresponsible, and his momma’s going to kick him out of home if he could not do one small task: bring home packing milk for dinner. Of course, this will not be easy, if it was, would not have been much of the film.
Even as difficult as the work becomes, which is still not so much a movie. In the dining gives awful lot of oil, low common denominator humor that once brute most of the time. I confess that it is in a few minutes - any movie in jest, that belongs to the McDLT may not be all bad in my book - but clunker hit ratio in the terribly weak, and most of the movie left me cold.
A lot of that stems from the crude cartoons sent in the movie. Of course, The Breaks is an equal opportunity offender, black, white, blue, Asians - nearly every group receives insults here. I do not know what progress, but at least no one can claim the movie has a particular day (though, and - not surprisingly - gay separated from the worst of all).
Nevertheless, the film is really as terrible broad and crude. I do not think it’s worse than nasty Farrelly brothers victims, as in Tam something about Mary and Kingpin, but considering my displeasure of those films that does not say much. While Breaks tosses a few decent bits, most of the film falls flat, and not interesting.
