Botched

Maybe I was not paying attention lately, or can my IQ dropped dramatically, as it does so often, but I must declare that I did not know anything about Botched. I have never heard of the damn movie! My discovery began when I decided to scoot to the DVD store to withdraw the film for my daily brain therapy. I parked, entered the store and began patrolling the perimeter of the new release wall. I reached the “B”, where I discovered that the name called Botched looked back at me. The front panel has been kind of a blank expression, and there were flashing lights screaming “Take Me”, but I read on the back of the DVD sleeve to get a breakdown of the story. So far, so good. This is a professional thief, dual psycho killers, psychosis Russian mafia, deranged hostage, ripping the ear, beheading, house rats bombs (yes rat, which has become an incendiary device), a passionate kiss under a pile of dead bodies, and much, much more. OK, so far so good. So I flick the front cover and notice rating: “R18 + The high level of violence in horror.” The horror of violence? Ok, I just, I sold.

Ritchie Donovan (Stephen Dorf) is a professional and competent thief whose luck is about to end abruptly. After a successful diamond heist leave his car involved in the horrific accident that resulted in the instant death of his gang. Now, I can not enough emphasis on the carrying of your freakin ’seat belts, people! One propels year in the back seat vehicle as a missile right through the front windshield and went head first into a wall. This is what I call opening with a bang ! Ritchie, a bit shaken activities, restrictions on the operations of the road only to leave affected by another vehicle, launching him into the air and scattering diamonds across the road, leaving him no choice but to make good his escape without diamonds to enable cops.

We learned that diamonds for the Russian mafia boss named Groznyi (Sean Pertwee), which paid for Ritchie, and his mother immigrate to America from Russia, where Ritchie was just a kid, and now that Richie all grown up, it should work Groznyi for a professional thief to repay debt. Diamond heist was to pay off all debts between him and Groznyi but Ritchie provided another opportunity to fuck him to do good work. Ritchie gives a job to steal the gold cross on the top floor penthouse in a secure office / home. It has long been a gold cross belonged to the family of Ivan the Terrible and Groznyi wants it bad. Ritchie believes that the heist would cinch. What do you think?

Very rarely such a combination of successful comedies with horror, in particular, in accordance with my desires. As we all know, comedy is difficult, die easily. There are those who think that the mixture of two genres Scream successfully. I said that he did, and the cashier’s office success Scream she said to me, but to be honest? Scream was able only to get a low chuckle from me Db… and possibly annex. Now the holiday, or Return of the Living Dead, that my taste in horror comedy. I am referring to arrive at splitting dogs! That’s something that I will never forget, and I still laugh out loud at the idea of the beauty of nearly a half-wriggling puppies around on the floor. Or you might say that the child-monster thing humping a cow’s head hangs on the back wall of the bar in the Holiday? I went to the heart when I saw that. Now this leads me to the film at hand. Is this a horror movie? Yes absolutely. Is this a comedy? Hell Yeah! This is a horror comedy? You freakin ‘better believe that the man! This should be one of the most cheerful, nozzle-stifling films that I have seen for a long time. Perhaps ever.

The film feels like a cross between Cube, House 9, saw, Scream and any Tarantino movie that you can think of. Now remember, “feels” in a speech. There are no direct or indirect references to these films in any obvious way. Scenario Raymond and Eamon Friel is witty and clever with its own unique style. Not necessarily original (but then, that these days?), However, it is certainly a refreshing piece of work. In some deadpan humor is generated from a well-written script, a well-developed group of quirky characters and excellent acting, which played directly or with delicate irony silliness. Gently for rats (as in rodent), my favorite character, which really stole the show and parts of the body. Voted “Best rat in the movie” I am!
Now, on the other hand, the number of times that Botched crosses genres and genres amount that it actually crosses (which is a lot), can be annoying in the heck of some spectators.
