Blind Horizon

Despite the presence of such familiar faces as Val Kilmer, Neve Campbell, and Amy Smart, it is quite easy to understand why Blind Horizon never made it to theaters. Despite the fact that the film is an intriguing premise, and some interesting ideas, the script (written by a pair of newcomers, Paul F. Benz and Steve Tomlin), the characters really do not give a whole lot to do, with the result that most of the Blind Horizon in the midsection deals Kilmer, as he fights for his own piece together the identity (that sounds much more intriguing than it actually is).

All amnesia case comes into play as soon as the film with their feet to leave Kilmer character - Frank Cavanaugh - are receiving treatment for wounds after the left of dead unknown killer (he was killed and thrown over a fairly high cliff). When he comes, Frank discovers that he did not recall who he or what happened to him, it was very disappointing for the local sheriff (played by Sam Shepard). Much more problematic is a rare memories that Frank really, most of which revolve around the potential assassination of the President.

Because Kilmer and various artists, just nothing terribly memorable for the Blind Horizon. This is a kind of movie that passes the time adequately, but is beginning to fade from memory moments after it ended. Director Michael Haussman efforts to revive production (ie rapid decline, many outbreaks, etc.), eventually becoming more distracting than anything else, as it is impossible not to wish the director’s efforts to facilitate film, deception, and let the story evolve naturally.

This is compounded by the fact that there is not a whole lot of mystery here, because the viewer is left in no doubt that the questionable things afoot (and that, of course, does not take a genius to understand that Kilmer character has something to do with the assassination attempt). Much more disappointing is the creeping realization that some of the more critical issues raised in the film, the scenario would remain unanswered, particularly related to a massive conspiracy (ie who these people are and why they want the President dead?)

Blind Horizon is, when you get to it directly, largely lackluster straight-to-video efforts elevated in the presence of some unusually big names, and although he never exactly boring, the film, of course, is nothing to get excited about.
