Blind Date
Blind Date is a positive indication that it is not as easy as it looks to consolidate the good original comedy. Films like Weekend at Bernie’s policies and the Academy to do so, it seems, as the effort is getting laughs from the completely absurd situation. Blind Date proves, however, that this is not quite as efforts seem.
Bruce Willis stars as Walter, a successful architect, who is on the verge of a large promotion. Whether or not he gets it had much to do with his ability to convince potential client, which is a very old-fashioned views on how men and women should behave. One such belief is that the men should not be one, so asked his brother Walter (played by Phil Hartman) to set it in time. On match Nadia (Kim Basinger), a beautiful woman who comes with a warning - never let her drink (she will see the wild, Walter gets warning). Both repay his victims instantly, and, presumably, is attracting clouds Walter his view, the proposals that quickly Nadia glass of champagne. She drinks more than she should, and the rest of the evening will essentially become Walter at worst nightmare, as Nadia proceeds to wreak havoc.
The problem with the blind is that in situations that are not actually original, the movie, like Weekend at Bernie’s, which featured two guys trying to pass out of a dead man, as a living, contains organically funny installation. But here, but director Blake Edwards is trying to be difficult, in different circumstances, Willis’ character is not only all that believable. Example: After Walter experiences that wild night that saw him fired and jailed, It seems reasonable enough that he would never want to see Nadia again. Nay, but the third act - which saw Nadia marriage with a sleazy lawyer named David (John Larroquette, who steals every scene he is in) - Walter believes it makes any Nadia can get back. It does not make sense, we never taking into account any statements to the effect that even Walter loves her, let alone loves her.
Edwards, however, revive things with a few incredibly entertaining SteadiCam shots. First, it is best that begins in Walter’s office, travels hall in his office, went in the elevator, and concluded in the lobby. Edwards sense of style also improves a lot in the dark, but still not enough to prevent it from becoming tedious.
