Black Water
In a sense, Paul Hogan in the movie clear of the 1986, in conjunction with the series of commercials he has done for the Commission for Australian tourists around the same time helped put Australia on the international map - but by reducing the Australian national Export-related mythology of the ‘jolly bushman’, Hogan has created an image that the country is trying to live down so far.

And so, the response. In 2005, Greg McLean finally took revenge on his back, because of the horror Wolf Creek, whose outback antagonist quotes Crocodile Dundee with pleasure ( “this is not a knife - a knife”), a decrease, tortured and raped his way through Hogan stereotype - and now, writer / director duo David Nerlich and Andrew Traucki have his debut with the Black Water, the new film crocodile that, as Wolf Creek, puts paid to the cozy old iconography, that the murderer might simply Tourists think twice about going down under.
Urbanized sisters Grace (Diana Glen), and Lee (Maeve Dermody) and Grace in boyfriend Adam (Andy Rodoreda) just finished spending Christmas with the girls’ mother (Fiona Press), in the Northern Territory. In a few days of vacation left, the three tourists first stop is a crocodile farm, a safe distance from where they look penned (but still dangerous) saltwater croc being baited and fed expert. They lark about in a model of the jaw, laughing. Later the same evening, Grace discovers she is pregnant.
The next morning, they go on fishing trips to a beautiful complex estuaries and tributaries - when suddenly their tin boat had overturned their local leadership of Jim (Ben Oxenbould) disappears in the water, and they are like three little monkeys on the child in the song, cowering together in the branches of mangrove trees, as a giant “saltie” hiding in the dark water below, just waiting to go easy. Cut off from all contact with the outside world, in the devilish heat, without food or water, city slickers truly activities creek without a paddle - and, as all three under repeated attack, he quickly begins to look unlikely that any will live to see the new year.
Based, as they say, that the true events (but with fewer casualties than real stories that inspired it), Black Water is the principal Open Water (2003) with a large crocodile instead of sharks, indicating a fragile veneer that may exist between our lives from the comfort of civilized and more violent world of pain and death. As Open Water, a micro-budget film with a tiny (and reducing) filed; as Open Water, a terrifying night storm sequence, in which the only odd flashes of lightning illuminates horrors, on the surface, and, as Open Water, a delicious creatures, which he describes very real (courtesy of some clever digital songs participants, crocs and field, everything has been done to Nerlich, in a laptop). Indeed, during the shooting, a camera was actually chomped a fifteen footer (the so-called Stumpy), and then obtained his emergency “dinner POV” shooting still intact.
Nevertheless, Traucki Nerlich and really absorbing their teeth in the formula using the crocodile relative invisibility in the first half to build a movie near unbearable tension even from tiny spray sounds or surface bubbles, and after the attacks resume, they come from explosions panicky confusion and the vicious, Primal terror. Just as importantly, the characters are quite convincing in their hopes and fears, and to act recklessly only because of the total helplessness of his situation. In a watertight script, no option available to the characters, no more, and everyone has their deadly down, leaving the audience to wonder what they themselves have done in similar circumstances, are forced to look directly into the jaws of death. Meanwhile, bring a naturalistic settings incredible brand of poetry, all mandibles and mortality.
The Black Water may be derivative, but it is not clay pot - and if you have not had your fill antipodean water lizards on rampage, you can still count on the Rogue (2007), Greg MacLean crocodile-for thematic follow-Wolf Crick. Therefore, once again, as in the good old days before the Dandy Picnic At Hanging Rock (1975), Long Weekend (1978), Mad Max (1979) and Razorback (1984), Australia has become a civilized, uncharted terror and brutality - both worth a visit.
