In nearly three unrelated stories going on simultaneously, three women to break out of their dominant tracks and know they have the right to live and to control their own lives. BETWEEN STRANGERS has a good cast, good governance, but the story that will be cliched for-TV movie. Director / writer Edoardo Ponti debuts with a small production with a few name actors in the Toronto-filmed production.

We are desperate tale of three women, each confined to a sense of life. Sophia Loren, who, incidentally, the mother of the director, played by Olivia. She works at a convenience store, but a powerful artistic encourages it believes that difficult to control. This is necessary to express themselves deceived her wheelchair bound husband John (Pete Postlethwaite with an American accent), which is not what the problems expressing themselves. John Olivia manipulated through his disability, and his dependence on her.

Natalya (Mira Sorvino) is an accomplished photographer. She has just been photograph on the cover of “Time” magazine. Not bad, but, as its dominant father Alexander (Klaus Maria Brandauer) indicates her age he had already had several “Time” covers. And there is something about this cover, it is a mysterious Natalia. But Alexander wants her to forget these issues and continue on the path he has chosen for her.

Cellist Catherine (Deborah Kara Unger) dominated his position demands orchestra. It also has deep misgivings when her abusive father (Malcolm McDowell) is unexpectedly released from prison in early and tries it out. She feared he would be once again a cause in their lives.

These women tied together with the vision of a little girl. The girl has roughly the same role as the monolith in 2001: SPACE ODYSSEY. Perhaps that puts this film in the Magic realism. There is also another plot element is not explained, and so he, too, seemed to Magic realism. If so, that may be only the plot elements that will distinguish this film from other films such opportunities. This is probably one received a distinguished cast more for who was director than for close to the story.

The film was well-attended festival in Toronto, probably because of the distinguished cast, and in fact he was removed and set in Toronto. It was probably good as a starting point for Edoardo Ponti in the film his own script, but it should get better material next time.
