Beerfest

Beerfest begins with a disclaimer warning spectators not to try this at home, because you die. They have a point. For rape behavior characters, or even build a drinking game for this maddeningly uneven, sometimes uproarious, suds-soaked comedy, aimed directly at the frat boy complex, is to invite a mortal danger, or at least ridiculously bad legacy.

These scamps cult favorites for Super Troopers and Club Dredd returned, although this outing, perhaps they should change the name of his comedy troupe Broken Lizards for Broken Livers. It would be more appropriate, as brothers Todd (Erik Stolhanske), and Jan Wolfhouse (Paul Soter) travel to Germany for Oktoberfest to spread their grandfather’s ashes, and at that festival hides a secret. Along with the holiday, there is a centuries-old, secretive competition, a kind of drinking Olympics: Beerfest. Todd and Jan, who take great pride in both of them and their imbibing beer game, were at first pleased and fascinated, but then in horror when they meet reigning champs, Von Wolfhausens, their German cousins.

Germans insult their American relatives, slander their grandfather, and questioned the reputation of the boys’ beloved Great Gam Gam (Cloris Leachman). This is a challenge that will not be taken lying down, at least until they are passed by and they return home with a sense of determination to win the next Beerfest. Gathering together old drinking pals, science geek Fink (Steve Lemme), chug-meister landfill (Kevin Heffernan), and troubled Barry Badrinath (Beerfest director Jay Chandrasekhar), they planned expenditure over the next 12 months , in heavy training. But it is a year fraught with questions: whether their grandfather did steal the recipe for the world’s best beer, as Von Wolfhausens claim, and if so, what happened? How Great Game Game to earn a living even in Germany? Can drink to excess landfill and remain married? Which of Fink experiments with frogs? Is Barry really so damaged his dark past that he can no longer play beer pong? And what is the secret of victory in the most difficult of all competition “Das Boot”?

Sound silly and more than a little inane? That, and because it is mostly rice comedies, it suffers from this unevenness that comes from trying to string together a bunch of sketches to form a cohesive whole. In addition, ribald, outrageous, shameful, and curious warmhearted. In quintet is ready to try anything, throwing jokes out there to see if they stick. They get more than they should, perhaps, is coasting on its own charm, and in the course of genius, forcing them to leave Leachman as the Great Game Game would be any other octogenarian, that the game or salty? And Jurgen Prochnow as the evil Baron Wolfgang von Wolfhausen. Not a single actor, usually associated with a comedy, not to mention one loopy as this, Prochnow game proves itself as the Lizards satirize its unification with other Das Boot.

With its high alcohol content, sexcapades, crude humor, and the propensity to topless women, Beerfest is acquired taste, it is a bit like your basic American beer. That is, the comedy is the equivalent of empty calories. But, while there is a comic brews with the best taste, it will go down quite easily.
