Bambi

A few weeks ago, I noticed a poll on the Internet board for fans of the movie that asked people to name their favorite classic Disney movie. A lot of different books come - Aladdin, The Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast, The Lion King… but curiously, none of the movies that came before Walt Disney died in 1966, was even mentioned. Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, Dumbo, Pinocchio, Lady and the Tramp, “” Cinderella, “” Sleeping Beauty… all these timeless movies should be considered landmarks and enormous influence in the world of animation, yet today they are marred by technological monoliths of Pixar together with the other, more recent films that bear the Disney name, but because of a lack of personal involvement man who forever changed the face of the genre.

It is for this reason that I go to the video store for a long look at the film, which always makes my heart smile, in 1942 Bambi. Unfortunately, the film is unavailable on DVD at this time, so this will be my passionate blame for the Platinum Edition version.

Based on the wonderful Felix Salten novel (which I have read several times during my childhood), Bambi used the “Circle of Life” theme long before it was in the brain inkling of writers for The Lion King. The film was quite serious departure from the Disney Co and tried before; their previous three full-function were pure fantasy, with Snow White and Pinocchio housing (primarily) in the human world, while the animals were Dumbo, as its lead characters are eloquent, but very whimsical tale nonetheless.

In Bambi, the animal denizens of the forest portrayed in a very realistic fashion - if not take into account the fact that they are talking about. Even with the dialogue, the tale is not a story here. Instead of this simple but elegant history shows a young deer’s life - his birth, in his youth, and even in their fatherhood - and this is as breathing, and emotionally affecting hour and ten minutes, as you can ever spend.

Although by today’s standards CGI animation in Bambi might be considered a bit raw, there is no doubt that it was solely at the time of his release and remains the gold standard for decades. Animation process was really a very laborious. To begin with, to deer and other animals appear in the movie look almost photorealistic, producers (the so-called “Walt Disney) brought real fawns for artists to observe. When it was found that these children are not likely to act the same way as their forest-dwelling counterparts, instead, they looked at nature documentaries that their subjects in action.

Since animals, said it was also necessary to give them their personality traits. Animator Mark Davis brought in a book with pictures of different expressions and the rights of the child artists in the light of those on the faces of fawns and child rabbits. Through these various methods, animators were able to create a deer looked up, which is very natural in their movements (like someone who used to live in the West, and saw a deer on a regular basis, realism, shockingly), but were endearing and appealing because they lively facial features were so emotive.

Along with the amazing animated creatures were carefully rendered origin, which will certainly affect some of the world’s leading animators working today. Artists really studied droplets of water, which will help in creating a beautiful film rain. Another new technology has been used multiplane camera, which creates the illusion of depth through different backgrounds, all at different distances from the camera with eyeholes, which can be aimed at one particular piece of scenery, and the others look “naturally” out of focus.

Visual spectacle mesh perfectly with the Musical that I know how to return to their hand. I think the score for Bambi was a real beginning of my interest in theatrical music of all kinds - I had the record albums with orchestral accompaniment under the age of five, and I remember listening to it often. Perhaps the music sounds a bit hokey today’s standards, but in the context of the date of issuance and net solar innocence story, I can not imagine how a soundtrack could be done better.

Atypical for Disney films, Bambi story noteworthy for its sheer simplicity. A deer born, and look at the entire forest as a young prince. He makes friends with some of the other residents, especially young outspoken rabbit named Thumper and nature-loving skunk that Bambi dubs colors. Soon, the young deer finds out about the dangers of rights, and is responsible stag, which must surely be his father. The times change and life is difficult.

It is here, where Disney is ultra-realistic, killing one of the major heroes of the movie, Bambi mother. This is the first animated film to cover the issue is so serious, and even though the scene surrounding the shooting treated with extreme delicacy, they are, nevertheless, in their heart rending grief. (I admit it - it still makes me cry just a little).

It is at this critical moment that innocence lost limbs, forcing Bambi grow. Winter turns to spring and Bambi and his friends find themselves suddenly “twitterpated”, that is, in love with the striking some women of their species. Life continues, and we see the consequences of Man again, as Forest set aflame, forcing animals to leave their idyllic thickets. By the end of the film, circle of life is completed, with two children born to Bambi and Faline as Bambi and his father retain control of the forest.

The plot is not complicated, and do not need to be. The film is an excellent review of a wide eyed innocent people, and they are experiencing pain as they mature. Bambi is also remarkable for its early handling of environmental issues. Man’s destruction of forests, of course, is contempt here, and thus, the film is certainly a precursor to such works as a railway Nausic valley wind and Princess Mononoke.

Bambi opened the door for numerous films, which continue to use it as a plan even today. It showed that viewers are ready to look serious fare and animated films, which could be made available to readers of all ages, in fact, almost demands that the families see it together for a serious discussion of the topic, it provides. Here’s hoping that, since Disney produces another of his old classics, “The Sleeping Beauty” in the Platinum Edition package later this year, delightful classic as Bambi, will not be long in following.
