Babel
Babel is director Alejando Gonzalez, I Sat rritu outs of stylistic and thematic trilogy that began in Amores Perros and continued in 21 grams. Of the three, Babel, perhaps the most accessible. As in the case of 21 Grams (and to a lesser extent, Amores Perros), the film is constructed as a mystery, with the different pieces that occur at different times and in different places within five days of life. Nevertheless, it is less difficult to put together. (Think of it as the difference between assembling 250 - a piece of jigsaw and 50 - a sample.) temporaral In tears, not extreme, and there is no clear evidence of the background of how each sequence is linked to the fact around, and fit into the global time-line . This allows comrade on the structure.
This is a compelling story, which determines how small errors and omissions in court could lead to tragic consequences. It also shows how little we communicate to all shrinking world. In addition to these topics, umbrella, the film also has a “small” message for its individual segments. There are four of them. The first involves two children in a mountain village in Morocco. Their father bought the gun for shooting predators hunting sheep. One son, testing range at rife, fires a round at a tourist bus. The second segment features Americans Susan (Cate Blanchett) and Richard (Brad Pitt), who are on vacation in Morocco. She shot and seriously injured by the bullets fired by the boys, and her fight for life turns into an international incident with terrorist related crimes. The third phase focuses on Susan, and two children, Richard (Elle Fanning and Nathan Gamble), which are under the care of illegal immigrant, Amelia (Adriana Barraza). When parents can not make it home in time, Amelia, and her nephew Santiago (Gael Garc a Mr. Bernal), are forced to bring children across the border from Mexico so she could attend her son’s wedding. When the border patrol became suspicious of them on their way back, there are consequences. Finally, in distant Japan, the deaf-mute boy Tieko (Rinko Kikuchi) trying to cope in a world that offers little in the way of love. Her mother committed suicide and her father (K t ji Yakusho) is a cold, distant figure. In an attempt to capture a bit emotional warmth, it is involved in a series of increasingly risky sexual escapades. How this connects to another plot that was left for the second half of the movie reveal, but I can say that nothing is shocking or sensational.
One of the great strengths of Babel is what I Sat rritu ability to cope with the challenges of global importance at the same time introducing vivid characters whose individual problems, it is equally important and necessary. There are not villains. Crimes committed, but none are intentional. Small mistakes snowball have unforeseen and unimaginable consequences. One man decided to buy weapons for the protection of the flock led to two small white children in distress alone in the desert of Southern California. This is only one of many directions, which is an integral part of Babel on the Internet. It brings to mind the so-called “butterfly effect”. (A nimble encapsulated motivated attempts to Chaos theory, the “Butterfly Effect” reports that the flapping of butterfly wings in Africa could indirectly lead to tornadoes appear half light.)
Perhaps the greatest personal stories is that in Tieko. In cases showing her point of view (with eerily silent soundtrack), and compare it with strobe lights and thumping dance music from Tokyo on the night scene, I Sat rritu builds its segments into something deeply affecting. As well as all the artists - and they include such as Brad Pitt, Cate Blachett, and Mr. Bernal Gael Garc one - young Rinko Kikuchi steals attention. Her work is haunting and heartbreaking. As much as we feel for the other characters in the Babylon and the tragedies that fate brings into their lives, Tieko that, we want to appeal.
Babel is a masterpiece from the director, whose efforts each again reinforces its international reputation. This film is a mature and powerful piece of cinema, as 21 Grams, and a worthy conclusion, I Sat rritu and screenwriter Guillermo Arriaga’s “trilogy”. This cathartic, thought-provoking, the film is emotionally hard decisions. This is a kind of film I hope to see when I sit down to the theater to watch a drama. Li seen against the backdrop of the flow of images in the middle of the festival, or on its own in a local multiplex, Babel stands out from the crowd. Its complex (pending mystifying) stories, forceful character development, and superb cinematography make this a candidate for one of the best 2006 proposals.
