Avenging Angelo

Angelo avenge marks the latest Sylvester Stallone vehicle, which, of course, are intended to premiere in theaters, but instead makes its debut on home video. While it is not as bad as his latest direct to video effort, Eye See You, it is still very far away from some of his more memorable efforts (ie, Cliffhanger).

Stallone stars as a mafia bodyguard works for aging gangster (played by Anthony Quinn, in his final role), who has long abandoned his only daughter to protect her. After he dies, the truth finally goes - requiring Stallone to start protecting spoke daughter (Madeleine Stowe). Angelo revenge is watchable, in a predictable sort of way. He is not a genius to figure out that the two will ultimately fall in love (the movie spends most of its time developing their working relationship, so quite obvious where all this is happening), while revenge subplot ever becoming a terribly interesting . Improve the film into something more than just a movie-o-o-week fodder (and that is exactly what it has from time to time reminded, complete with romantic montages set to sappy rock ballads), a statement Stallone and Stowe. Stallone will be an affable leading man, and his sad-sack character eventually becomes someone that we are rooting for. I Stowe, despite its disturbing puffy lips, abandons her more serious past, and easily slips on the shoes of the original role.

Angelo avenge the call probably only die hard fans Stallone, most of which are likely to benefit from this admittedly small romantic comedy.
