After the Sunset

After the Sunset is a mess, but it’s a breezy, fun disorder. No one is ever going to mistake this great art, but it has a charismatic type, moving at the pace of efforts, and, eventually, almost makes you forget that it does not do anything memorable. The film contains elements of a heist movie, a mismatched buddy picture, a hot romance, and the James Bond thriller. There are all the necessary double-cross and twist at the end that a blind person can see coming. After the Sunset does not achieve any of their goals exceptionally well, but it is just enough to keep the language and the majority of viewers are involved and entertained. And if one begins to abate interest, there is a lot to consider. Veteran cinematographer Dante Spinotti reflects the natural beauty of the Caribbean almost as much flair as he shoots Pierce Brosnan and Salma Hayek. In two such photogenic actors, it is not necessary viewer never bored.

After the Sunset undermines the position begins with a future career in the final caper master jewel thief Max (Brosnan) and Lola (Hayek). After the liberation of FBI agent Stan Lloyd (Woody Harrelson), one of the three Napoleon diamonds, they disappear to the island paradise to enjoy their retirement. It is not long before Max starts to feel like a prisoner, he itching to try another indicator, and its ability to cruise ship arrives with a friend of Napoleon diamonds. Along with the ship comes agent Lloyd, who hooks up with a local cop, Sophie (Naomie Harris). And on the island of bowling (Don Cheadle) offers a notorious thief profitable partnership. The pull of a crime, is almost too great to resist, but there is one thing holding back Max - Lola is serious about being retired. She does not intend to get back to business, and theft stone for two persons working.

One of the weakest elements After the Sunset is a caper. This is a common theft-on-diamond heist and run, and the lack of inspiration invested in this part of the script makes clear that the writers were more interested in other things. In hatred / grudging admiration for the relationship between Max and Stan is one of the most pleasant part of the film. Both actors develop attractive characters, and there’s a lot of humor in their interactions. A scene from sharks, what is good for a few laughs full-bellied. The two are in constant competition of one upsmanship, and it is fun to watch them work each other. (Max is the best manipulator - or so it seems). They connect so well that I was ready to forgive the cheap joke that makes them a bestaktny position. Equally engaging is the relationship between Max and Lola. These two generate heat. Why lie on the hot sand, when you can bask in Brosnan and Hayek in the glow?

Who cares about sunset, when you are? What is not so successful. For example, the relationship between Stan and Sophie are strained and artificial. Don Cheadle in the offender, while it exhibits some quirky characteristics, serves no purpose other than to provide a red herring. And though the film is clearly links To Catch a Thief, it is wishful thinking on the part of Cinematographers Council that the audience will connect to this film Cary Grant classic. More than likely connected to the Bond movies. It would not surprise me to see hiding somewhere in the background. Not only is Max remote control that allows him to drive a car without meeting inside it, but he exercises acid that can eat through an “impenetrable” surface.

After the Sunset on the borders is described as a “fun wine” because, in spite of not particularly well written, it nevertheless offers 100 minutes, unpretentious diversion. Director Brett Ratner (Peak Hour) gets the right tone, and the actors play together. After the Sunset is a movie of small moments and great laughs. If the production does not provide a level V Sting, at least, we are not going to the theater feeling stung.
